Armed/Gun Permit-Combo Class (Coming Soon)

Combined Armed Security Guard and Enhanced Gun Permit Class

• Tuition is $225.00 for Tennessee.
• This class satisfies both
• (1) the Armed Security Guard training requirement to obtain a license from the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance to obtain an Unarmed or Armed Security Guard License.
• (2) The training required to obtain an Enhanced Gun Permit.
• The class covers the Tennessee Private Protective Services Law and Rules book and follows the guidelines set forth by the state.
• Conducted over two 8-hour days.
• Students must be 21 years old to become armed guards.
• Student must bring an operational quality handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition.  (Factory, new, or reloads are all fine.)
• Instructor will provide shooting targets and eye/ear protection.
• A good attitude with safety in mind.
• NPS Protective Service will ensure that all training materials are provided.

You will receive:

• Proof of training from NPS Protective Service 
• Your color photo from NPS Protective Service

2.   Upload all documents to the new online Tennessee Private Protective Services portal (https://core.tn.gov).Your next step to get the license:
1.   Gather your application and documents.Digital proof of training and color photo from NPS Protective Service (we will email this to you).
Digital Finger Print Receipt.  We will scan this for you.
DD214 form if you have ever been in the military.
Court Clerk certified final disposition of any arrests.
Proof of Citizenship documents if you immigrated to the United States (such as a Green Card).
Your credit card or debit card.

• If you have trouble using the online system, or if you don't have a computer/internet, you are welcome to make an appointment with us after you have completed your training and have gathered all of the additional items.  Call us at (901) 826-4764 to schedule the appointment.  We will assist you with your online application and document uploading.
• The fee for this personal assistance is $25.
• You must have an e-mail address in order to register for the State’s new portal and a credit or debit card to pay your state fee.

3. Pay the state fees:

• Armed Guard License Fee ($130.00)
• Digital Fingerprint Fee ($37.15)
