Armed Security Training

Take your security career to the next level with NPS Protective Service’s Armed Security Training. This course is meticulously crafted to equip you with the necessary skills in armed protection, under my guidance as a seasoned instructor with a background in security, military and law enforcement. I offer hands-on experience to develop firearm proficiency, heighten situational awareness, and sharpen decision-making skills. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned pro seeking to elevate your capabilities, I ensure comprehensive preparation for high-risk scenarios. With a unique blend of theory and practical application, you'll be ready to excel in the security sector. 

• Tuition is $185.00 
• Required by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance to obtain an Unarmed or Armed Security Guard License. They cover the Tennessee Private Protective Services Law and Rules book and follow the guidelines set forth by the state.
• Conducted over two 8-hour days for Tennessee.
• Students must be 21 years old to become an armed guard.
• Student must bring an operational quality handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition.  (Factory, new, or reloads are all fine.)
• Instructor will provide shooting targets and eye/ear protection.
• A good attitude with safety in mind.

• Proof of training from NPS
• Your color photo from NPS

2.   Upload all documents to the new online Tennessee Private Protective Services portal (https://core.tn.gov).

Your next step to get the license:
1.   Gather your application and documents. Digital proof of training and color photo from NPS (we will email this to you).
Digital Fingerprint Receipt. 
DD214 form if you have ever been in the military.
Court Clerk certified final disposition of any arrests.
Proof of Citizenship documents if you immigrated to the United States (such as a Green Card).
Your credit card or debit card.

• If you have trouble using the online system or don't have a computer/internet, you are welcome to make an appointment with us after completing your training. You have gathered all of the additional items.  Call us at (901) to schedule the appointment.  We will assist you with your online application and document uploading.
• The fee for this personal assistance is $30.
• You must have an e-mail address to register for the State’s new portal and a credit or debit card to pay your state fee.

3. Pay the state fees:

• Tennessee Armed Guard License Fee ($105.00)
• Digital Fingerprint Fee ($37.15)
• State fees are subject to change without notice.
